Mary Pikul
Mary lives in the Arts District of Oak Park with her dog and daughter when she is home from college. Mary has done committee work as a teacher, led children programming, served as a member of OPRF’s Community Council, volunteered in many different capacities including most recently, Beyond Hunger, and was a founding Board Member of Chicago Friends School, a private Quaker elementary school in Chicago. Mary’s daughter was a PING Member beginning in 4th grade through her senior year of high school as a cellist in OPRF’s Symphony Orchestra. Mary values the music opportunities PING brought to her daughter’s life, including private lessons and the chance to mentor younger PING students. Currently, Mary teaches 2nd grade in Cicero. The skills she brings to the Board are those she developed as a teacher including organization, collaboration, time management, communication, adaptability, and presenting. She is a valued member of the executive board as Secretary and is also part of our annual PING Auction Team.
